Author: Ted J. Kaptchuk, OMD
Publisher: Contemporary Books (Div. of Mcgraw Hill)
ISBN: 0-8092-2840-8
Comments:
This book is a great introduction into Traditional Chinese Medicine, its philoshopy, concepts of balance, five element theory, diagnosis, and an introduction to Chinese herbology.
Title: Between Heaven and Earth - A Guide to Chinese Medicine
Author: Harriet Beinfield, L.Ac. and Efrem Korngold, L.Ac., OMD
Publisher: Ballantine Wellspring - Ballantine Publishing group
ISBN: 0-345-37974-8
Comments:
This is a good complement to the web that has no weaver. It spends more time on the various archetypes of the five elements when patterns are out of balance. The later chapters explain therapies and changes in diet to assist the re-balance of energy in the body.

Comments:
This book provides some interesting insights into the do's and don'ts of Chinese sports medicine. Parts 2 and 3 of the book present the four pillars of Chinese sports medicine and the therapies passed down from secret martial arts societies.
Traditional Chinese Medicine - Acupuncture
Title: Traditional Chinese Acupuncture - Meridians and Points
Author: J.R. Worsley, 2nd edition
Publisher: Element Books
ISBN: 0-906540-03-8
Comments: This is my authority on point and meridian locations based on cun (Chinese unit measure) and anatomical landmarks and drawn in standard anatomical position and various profile. I was very fortunate, because I found the book in a discount bin at Barnes and Noble. It was marked on the interior cover as 20 pounds and I bought it for 20 dollars. The indices and tables in the back are good reference to sedation points, contraindications, meeting points, source points and so on.
Title: The Acupressure Atlas
Author: Bernard C. Kolster, MD and Astrid Waskowiak, MD
Publisher: Healing Arts Press
ISBN: 13:978-1-59477-207-8
ISBN: 10:1-59477-207-X
Comments:
This was a Costco's special, but a good informational guide on points and meridians. The photgraphs are helpful in understanding point location. Remember, that it is the person's hand size that will match their body's point location.
The two ISBN's are because the book was compiled from two translations from German.
Title: Healing with Pressure Point Therapy - Simple Effective Massaging away more than 100 common aliments
Author: Jack Forem and Steve Shimer L. Ac.
Publisher: Prentice Hall Press, member of Penguin Putnam Inc.
ISBN: 0-7352-0006-8
Comments:
This book provides simple point protocols to address common ailments. If offers acupressure points and reflexology points as part of the therapy. Not as fancy and as expensive of the detailed acupuncture protocol books, but a good starting place.
