THE
INCAN SHAMAN'S COSMOLOGY
MASTERING THE THREE LEVELS OF
CONSCIOUSNESS
Indigenous
peoples have mastered practical ways to effectively heal, transform,
and envision the human potential in accordance with the organizing
principles of Heaven and Earth. They engage with reality through
heart-centered processes allowing them to maintain optimal conditions
around well being, fertility, equilibrium, and light. For thousands
of years different methods of healing have been used effectively to
attain maximum benefit in the course of one's life. The three-step
path to personal healing and power revolves around the concept of the
Andean Pachas, which are Inka maps of consciousness. Pachas are
allocations of time and space in which Kausay or life force contains
all aspects of one's journey: imprints, wounds, behaviors, karma,
potentials, vision.
The first Pacha of empowerment and
healing is known as Uhupacha and is ruled by the archetype Amaru or
Serpent. It is also the lower world, where everything is intangible
and in the process of manifestation or seeding. It is the womb of
Mother Earth where life begins and returns. It is the safest place
where the soul takes refuge in times of chaos, pain, or trauma.
Through animistic ceremonies we reclaim those soul parts that have
been compromised and restore them to their natural condition. The
teaching of Amaru allows us to heal and step beyond our woundedness.
We learn to change our relationship with time, and therefore, are no
longer claimed by our past, but instead by who we are becoming.
The
second Pacha or Kaypacha is the domain of the Jaguar archetype. We
explore the tremendous capabilities of our awareness. We learn to
shift from five sensorial to multi-sensorial engagements. The Munay
Pacha or territory of unconditional love is the terrain where we
learn to operate in consensual and non-consensual reality. We bring
the sacred understanding of how we relate to our engagements and how
we honor our struggles. Jaguar medicine teaches us the essence of
Ayni (balance, reciprocity, right exchange, and harmony) which then
becomes the blueprint merging the parts of how we are seen and who we
really are. Integrity and elegance become the tools of the Jaguar
Medicine person. We learn to awaken the "knowingness" that
resides in our luminous bodies and break loose from our limiting
belief system by engaging with our fears and violence. This process
allows us to break free from our paradigms and engage life in a more
conscious and productive way.
The teachings of the Hanaqpacha
or upper world revolve around the archetype of the Condor. We learn
to awaken the visionary within and explore and envision our
possibilities as individuals and collectively. We explore the mystery
teachings outside of time and space and bring awareness and
availability to our own becoming. Shamanic practice allows us to
engage in perceptual shifts to obtain information. Using several
tracking modalities we learn to navigate different realms of
consciousness. We become familiar with spirit guides and effective
users of healing tools. We learn the subtleties of energy as we
develop our own medicine body connected to organizing principles in
nature.
